This is a quick notice, saying that the likelihood is that I won't be posting here again. I've got my LJ, my IJ and my Facebook, this account just seems redundant. The only reason I constantly posted here, the QotD, is boring me. Mostly, it's boring me because frequently repeats itself, or is too US based.
Plus, I'm going to be separating my personal from my professional life in the next few weeks. For me, the Internet's a personal place. I'll probably even defriend my current coworkers on Facebook to keep it that way. Sure, you can have a limited profile, but then I have to be careful what I post on which part. As I'm not very happy in my current employment I really don't want my free time to be spent worrying if people with whom I no longer even have a friendship outside of school are reading things I don't want them to read.
I may check in on the neighbourhood, or I may not. I'm going to decide in the next couple of months whether just to cancel this account entirely. I joined here when it was new and exciting but never got the social development here I got on LJ. What good is that?

2008 is the Year of the Rat. Which animal year were you born in?
I was born in the year of the snake. To be honest, I'm not overly-fond of the description:
People born in the Year of the Snake are deep. They say little and
possess great wisdom. They never have to worry about money; they
are financially fortunate. Snake people are often quite vain, selfish,
and a bit stingy. Yet they have tremendous sympathy for others and
try to help those less fortunate. Snake people tend to overdo, since
they have doubts about other people's judgment and prefer to rely
on themselves. They are determined in whatever they do and hate
to fail. Although calm on the surface, they are intense and passionate.
Snake people are usually good-looking and sometimes have marital
problems because they are fickle. They are most compatible with
the Ox and Rooster.
How do you feel about your birthday? Do you look forward to it and remind all your friends, or do you dread it and try to keep it a secret?
I loathe my birthday with every fibre of my being. My best friends will hold parties weeks in advance / or after the event to avoid the accursed day.
What was your reaction to the results of the Iowa caucuses?
Well, since Huckabee won, we all know that the true winner was Stephen Colbert.
How far from your last home do you live? Why did you move and are you glad you did?
Submitted by Matthew 25.
I'm exactly half-way between my old apartment and my family home. It's far enough away from work, that there will no longer be any students knocking on my door for last minute homework help. Plus, I own the house. What more could I want out of it?
Show us what you're looking forward to in 2008.
What are your rituals or traditions for starting off a new year?
I have few rituals. In fact, I tend to rebel against the whole "New Years" extravaganza thing. Usually, I thoroughly clean my place, have a few friends over (or go over to a friend's) and eat junk food. Usually some geeking out is involved. That's about it.
